Gendemy was nurtured and formed in the context of Vietnamese higher education undergoing significant changes after the COVID-19 pandemic. It is the passion and graduation project of two students from the Educational Technology program at Hanoi University of Science and Technology: Phùng Trần Gia Bảo and Trần Thị Quỳnh Mai, under the expert guidance of Dr. Nguyễn Thị Thanh Tú.

Through research and practical surveys, the development team identified a major "pain point": Students often feel overwhelmed, lost, and lack discipline when it comes to self-learning. The scarcity of systematically organized resources and the absence of companions further diminish learning motivation. From this practical problem, Gendemy was born with the ultimate mission: Comprehensively develop Self-Directed Learning (SDL) competencies for learners, transforming self-study from a burden into an inspiring journey of self-discovery.
