The origin of the idea

n8n Atom was born from a real need and a larger vision. As a developer who frequently works with n8n workflows, I realized a core issue: workflows cannot be managed like code.

The initial problem:

• Workflows are stored in n8n's database and cannot be version controlled

• Every change has to be done manually on the UI, which is time-consuming and prone to errors

• Changes cannot be reviewed before deployment

• There's no ability to leverage AI coding agents to build workflows automatically

• Switching between multiple tools disrupts the flow

A 2-day journey with Antigravity

Day 1-2: Vibe Coding

• Forked the front-end from the official n8n repository
