Bookwise — A Minimalist Bilingual Book Summary Platform

Bookwise is a bilingual (VI/EN) book summarization web application with a sleek interface inspired by Apple Books. Built by an IT engineer in Canada, this platform combines concise knowledge and the power of AI to deliver a focused, ad-free, and inspiring reading experience.

The Story

Bookwise originates from my personal desire — an engineer who studied at EPFL (Switzerland) and currently resides in Vaughan, Canada — to store and systematize the great books I've read. This is not just an application, but a "digital cabinet" for me to preserve the essence of knowledge while sharing this gift with relatives, friends, and the community of book lovers.

• macOS "Vibe" Interface: A minimalist design that focuses entirely on content, eliminating all distracting elements and ads.

• Smart Bilingual Reading: Supports the simultaneous display of two columns (Vietnamese - English), helping users absorb knowledge while improving their language skills.

• Specialized AI Assistant: Each book integrates its own AI Chatbot (utilizing Gemini AI). Learners can directly query the internal knowledge of the LLM to gain deeper insights into the work (5 tokens/question).

• Personalized Experience: Tracks reading progress, saves favorite lists, bookmarks, and sets daily reading goals.

• Offline Mode & PWA: Allows downloading of books to read even without an internet connection.

• Multimedia: Integrates audio and YouTube links for each book to maximize the learning experience.
