This is another project that stems from my personal needs. I created Image Convert — a Chrome extension that changes image formats - running entirely in the Chrome browser on your computer.

Installing the extension is simple, just 1 click and you're done, installation link:

HOW TO USE

1. Click the extension icon — a 3-column workspace opens in a new tab.

2. Drag and drop an image file, or paste SVG markup.

3. Choose the output format, adjust quality, click Convert.

4. Save as a file. Done. Actually, once the conversion is complete, the image is already in local storage, this step is just to create a file.

SAFE AND FAST

- Runs entirely on local machine. Runs on the Chrome browser.

- SVG is sanitized and rendered in a sandbox — safe by default.

- Manifest V3, minimal permissions, no data collection.

SUITABLE FOR

- Designers extracting icons from Figma: copy SVG, paste it in, select PNG, done.

- Developers optimizing animations: if GIFs are too large, switch to animated WebP for lighter files.

- Anyone needing to quickly and efficiently change image formats, who does not want to upload images to strange websites, or install additional software.
