This project originates from personal needs.

1. CONTEXT

I use Synology NAS to store files and use Synology's office suite and mail server for work.

Additionally, I use Raspberry Pi 5 to host several other projects: website, git server, n8n, goClaw,...

2. NEEDS

I want to use the interface of goClaw to prompt agents to automatically interact with Synology's office suite.

Therefore, I built the "Synology MCP Server" to act as a bridge between goClaw and Synology's office suite.

This makes it easy to request agents to perform tasks related to Synology.

For example:

1. Write a prompt asking the AI Agent to add a new debt, export a PDF file of the debt to send to customers. The debt data is managed by Synology Office Spreadsheet.

2. Filter mail/auto-reply to mail in Synology's MailPlus. However, this feature needs to be handled carefully; it requires really good and safe prompts.

3. TOOLS

Currently, there are a total of 37 tools divided into 4 groups:

- Drive (11 tools)

- Spreadsheet (13 tools)

- MailPlus (6 tools)

- Calendar (7 tools)

4. SECURITY

- Only deploy this MCP in a LAN environment, which avoids quite a lot of security risks (since outsiders cannot access the MCP server).

- This is an MCP server, with absolutely no skills or anything related to AI.

- All source code of the "Synology MCP Server" has been security scanned using Claude Code, and the result is safe.
